The I’s have been dotted and the T’s crossed on the new Cotswolds Circular road cycling route. We hope it will prove a good combination of decent cycling around the Cotswolds, at around 45 miles a day, with some spare time to do a little sightseeing or sitting back at a lovely Cotswolds pub or café. It’s a 3 day cycling holiday with stopovers in Cirencester, Oxford and Moreton in Marsh, so there’s also plenty to see and do of an evening.
The route passes through or by some classic Cotswolds sights including Hidcote Manor, Broadway Tower, Chipping Campden, Lower Slaughter, Snowshill Manor and the famous Arlington Row at Bibury.
We’ve taken care though to ensure that as well as seeing the famous landmarks there are also miles of quiet road cycling more off the beaten track, where you can enjoy the cycling itself, with the odd hill, the views and the wind in your hair, depending how fast you’re going. Wherever we can we have used some of the National Cycling Network routes developed by those good people at Sustrans as they have found some brilliant routes threading through the Cotswolds countryside. Our routes are for road cycling so we’ve steered clear of the off-road tracks that Sustrans include.
Look out for the Cotswolds Circular road cycling holiday when it is launched in the next few weeks on the velobreaks. Com website.
