We’ve been asked a few times about what should be in a UK cycling holiday packing list. Bearing in mind that on a Velobreaks UK road cycling holiday the luggage is transferred daily to the next accommodation then you can comfortably pack more than you can carry on a bike. If you want to visit a fancier restaurant in the evening after your day’s exertions then it’s good to know there’s room to pack a smart outfit.
Finding good road cycling routes through Oxford from the Cotswolds was great fun. It features as an overnight destination on two of the Velobreaks’ UK cycling holidays so we’ve spent quite a bit of time there. Like many university towns it’s become more cycle friendly although it’s far from perfect.
One of the great things about cycling in Britain is the countryside and its amazing variety.
You only have to travel a few miles to find yourself on noticeably different terrain. That’s one of the attractions of the new route announced by Velobreaks – the Beacons and Cotswolds Circular.
The I’s have been dotted and the T’s crossed on the new Cotswolds Circular road cycling route. We hope it will prove a good combination of decent cycling around the Cotswolds, at around 45 miles a day, with some spare time to do a little sightseeing or sitting back at a lovely Cotswolds pub or café. It’s a 3 day cycling holiday with stopovers in Cirencester, Oxford and Moreton in Marsh, so there’s also plenty to see and do of an evening.
